Pronouns: she/her/hers
The world we live in makes it tough to feel safe around food, and within our own bodies. It’s common to feel like we’re at war with our bodies, or that we can’t trust ourselves around food.
Rachel works alongside clients to help them heal from eating disorders and disordered eating, find a deeper connection with their body’s cues, and make choices from a place of self-care rather than fear or obligation. Rachel believes that people are the experts of their bodies, and that her role in the work is to help make that empowerment feel more accessible.
Rachel came to nutrition as an unexpected career change and realized early on that a lot of standard “health” advice was missing the mark. Rachel’s nutrition practice is grounded in the Health at Every Size framework, which allows her clients to focus on what health means to them and reduce the negative effects that come from a focus on weight and size.
Rachel understands that while professional nutrition guidance can be an amazing part of the care team, no form of healing exists in a vacuum. She has lived and professional experience navigating food insecurity and oppressive food/medical systems, and understands the importance-and necessity-of harm reduction work in eating disorder care. There may be circumstances in life that make pursuing care complicated, and Rachel is ready to meet you where you’re at.
Healing your relationship with food is possible. Rachel can help you explore and challenge previously held beliefs about food, ease rigidity, and rediscover your innate awareness of your body’s cues. There is a freedom that comes from breaking out of diet culture, and Rachel is so excited to walk alongside clients as they redefine health on their terms and make space for all of the other incredible parts of who they are.
Rachel identifies as a white, cis, Jewish woman. She loves being active outdoors, cooking, traveling, and petting any animal that will let her.
