Lenni Shea

Get Started
Pronouns: (they/them/theirs)

Lenni brings deep understanding and compassion for the various ways individuals try to keep themselves safe within our current political climate. Eating disorders, addiction and other actions can be a wise choice for coping, seeking escape from marginalization and finding our way through oppression, but they become unsustainable and cause harm over time. Lenni will partner with you to explore your values, build compassion and understanding for yourself, and to create a foundation to build a life full of embodiment, intuition and joy with your body, nourishment and movement.

Lenni believes in body liberation for all, and that the intuitive relationship we start life with can be recaptured with joy and flexibility. Their own experiences with addiction and eating disorders led them to their heart-work of supporting others in finding relief from these difficulties and new, sustainable coping skills.

Lenni brings personal and professional experiences of body liberation, somatic healing, mindfulness and more into their work with curiosity and compassion for the wise choices that block people from healing. They work from a therapeutic foundation build on social justice, neurodiversity affirmation and body liberation.

Lenni is a white, neurodivergent, non-binary, queer, fat femme. They bring the intersection of their privileged and marginalized identities into their work, cultivating humility and openness as they continue to seek out education and action in anti-racist and social justice spaces from those more marginalized than themself. They are a body liberation, anti-racist and LGBTGEQIAP+ activist.

When Lenni is not working, they love spending time with their partner, family and nibling. They enjoy engaging in joyful movement through hiking, walking the dog park, or classes at No Judgment Fitness. They read daily and most enjoy fantasy as a temporary escape from the world. Their cats and dog are their companions in life, and they hope to train their kitten to hike and enjoy adventures with them.

Credentials and Education: Lenni a substance use disorder professional (SUDP) and licensed mental health counselor associate (LMHCA) in the state of Washington. They earned their bachelors in social sciences with a primary emphasis on psychology from Washington State University, a certificate in drug and alcohol counseling from Bellevue College and a master’s degree in addiction counseling: integrated recovery for co-occurring disorders from the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies. They have training in trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness based relapse prevention, Health at Every Size, body liberation, and working with the LGBTGEQIAP+ population. Lenni continues to seek out learning through a social justice mentorship, and opportunities for community-based mutual aid and activism in addition to their formal training.

Lenni works with adults and offers sessions in English.
