The Body Can Be Our Home Base in Embodying Justice

When something is embodied it means that it has become our go to move under pressure, or that even under the pressures of the world we live in, we can still move toward what we care about.

This is good news! It means that our longings for liberation and a world beyond racialized capitalism are practicable. Our bodies learn on repetition and our bodies learn on yes. We can't expect for the world or ourselves inside the world to change overnight, but we can keep putting the reps in of healing from the impacts of white supremacy so that we can take the action necessary to achieve our visions for liberation. Somatics offers us a path for that.

For many of us our longings for liberation are not new and we have deep commitments that we want to nurture and grow within ourselves and within community. We are looking for ways to feel more connected inside of our work, to be sustainable, or to make a bigger or wider impact.

For some of us, we are newer to actualizing these longings in the world and are looking to heal the shame or internalized oppression that we are now realizing is getting in the way of our work towards justice.

This course is for anyone who is wanting to grow their capacity to create more just spaces where all people are fully honored.
