A SOMATIC HEALING GROUP FOR QUEER AND TRANS FOLKS
Living in a culture steeped in patriarchy and white supremacy, shaped by the gender binary, and obsessed with thinness, it is easy to internalize difficult and often harmful messages about food and our bodies. To be queer and/or trans means to live in an inherently politicized body. These systems live inside each of us and shape what is and isn't possible. For many of us, this means that we have less than great relationships with our bodies and with food. We use food and body checking to take care of shame and internalized oppression. However, our bodies can be sites of so much knowledge, of our own power, and resilience. In this highly experiential group, we will work through the body as a way to explore our own healing and transformation. Our work will be weight neutral and grounded in the health at every size framework. Our commitment to you is that you will leave our 12 weeks together with a more authentic relationship to your body and to yourself.
